I have always fantasised about being a 50s housewife. I definately believe I was born in the wrong era. I believe that life is too complicated now with too many choices and too much media. I don't think children have the chance to enjoy being kids anymore. I think they are forced to grow up so quickly nowadays. All of the music videos they watch and magazines they read just make them want to be like the celebrities of today and some of those celebrities are not great role models for our children. I want my son to be able to grow up without all that pressure put on him to conform and to be an adult. Unfortunatley, I can't change the world but I can change my home! I am going to change my attitude towards my home and make it a beautiful place to live and a wonderful place for my baby to grow up in. With the help from a few blogs I have been following I am going to bring some of the elements of the 1950s into my home and hopefully make it a happier place to be.
Step 1 - I asked my partner if he would like a beer and I brought it to him. He was happy which made me happy. Small thing I know but it's a start :)
I love this and it's so true. I am doing the same to raise my son in the same way. I'm making my home a 1950s home :)
